LIBERAL Democrat leader Nick Clegg has been blocked from holding a meeting at Pershore Care Centre in a move labelled disgraceful' and childish'.
Mr Clegg was set to meet the disabled service users and their families at the care centre today (10th) but Worcestershire County Council has said that it will not allow the meeting at the centre as the visit seemed contrary to political neutrality.' Judy Hall is among the parents still fighting to save the centre despite the county council's decision to close it. She has invited Nick Clegg and Pershore's Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Richard Burt to her house this afternoon for a discussion.

Lib Dem leader to meet battling care centre parents

LIBERAL Democrat leader Nick Clegg will visit Pershore in July where he will meet parents still battling to save a town care centre.
The decision to close Pershore Care Centre was made by Worcestershire County Council in April but parents of the four severely disabled service users have vowed to fight on until the bitter end in order to keep the centre open.
Mr Clegg will be joined by local Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Richard Burt, when he visits the town on Thursday, July 10. He is expected to be at Pershore Care Centre from 12.15pm.

A WORCESTERSHIRE Liberal Democrat has urged the county council not to close the threatened Pershore Care Centre after meeting its users.
Parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire, Richard Burt, visited the centre on Friday (7)and spoke with the four centre users, their families and nursing staff.
He talked through the problems facing the profoundly disabled men if or when the centre is closed.
Mr Burt, said: "Carers and staff at the centre are one big family and have been caring for the men with multiple severe learning difficulties for the past twenty years.
